Brent se rend \u00e0 la banque alimentaire de sa localit\u00e9 depuis six ans et demi. Lorsqu'il a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 venir \u00e0 la banque alimentaire, il \u00e9tait dans une mauvaise situation.<\/p>\n

Il \u00e9tait entre deux emplois et vivait dans un environnement \u00e9motionnellement violent. Il a trouv\u00e9 une \u00e9chappatoire \u00e0 cet environnement en passant plus de temps \u00e0 la banque alimentaire, en faisant du b\u00e9n\u00e9volat.<\/p>\n

Au d\u00e9but, il aidait \u00e0 r\u00e9approvisionner les rayons de l'\u00e9picerie. Aujourd'hui, la plupart de ses heures de b\u00e9n\u00e9volat se font derri\u00e8re le comptoir, o\u00f9 il sert du caf\u00e9 et des en-cas \u00e0 ses compagnons d'infortune.<\/p>\n

Il a encore du mal \u00e0 joindre les deux bouts, car une blessure l'emp\u00eache de travailler \u00e0 plein temps. Mais aujourd'hui, il a trouv\u00e9 une communaut\u00e9 de personnes qui l'ont aid\u00e9 \u00e0 prendre confiance en lui et \u00e0 se donner un but.<\/p>\n

Lorsqu'on lui a demand\u00e9 quel avait \u00e9t\u00e9 l'impact de la banque alimentaire sur sa vie, Brent a r\u00e9pondu : \"En fait, cela m'a aid\u00e9 \u00e0 sortir d'une p\u00e9riode sombre de ma vie. Cela m'a fait comprendre que je n'avais pas besoin d'\u00eatre l\u00e0. Je me suis fait beaucoup d'amis ici. C'est ma famille \u00e9largie maintenant.<\/p>\n
