INTERIM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

This is truly an exciting Interim Executive Director position!

The Interim Executive Director will have a real opportunity to move the organization forward with its strategic direction and advance its success, with a high functioning and committed team, and financial stability.

From securing fresh and health food sources, to driving change through policy research and innovative programming, Feed Ontario unites food, industry partners and local communities in its work to end hunger and poverty.

Founded in 1992, Feed Ontario (Previously called Ontario Association of Food Banks) works to distribute food and unite local food banks to eradicate hunger and poverty. Feed Ontario has a network of 135 direct member food banks and supports other hunger-relief programs across Ontario and is a member of Food Banks Canada. It is a strong mission-driven organization.

Feed Ontario has an engaged and highly committed Board of Directors and staff.  It has grown significantly in the past couple of years, and particularly during COVID-19. The current, highly regarded Executive Director is going on leave for a year, beginning on August 1, ideally, or September 1, 2021.

As the organization has been refreshing its Strategic Plan in the middle of COVID-19 and experiencing significant growth, the focus for the Interim Executive Director will be on facilitating the final stage of the new strategic plan with the Chair, Board of Directors and the current Executive Director.  This will mean establishing an operational plan and the metrics and tools for ensuring accountability for advancing the strategic priorities.  In addition, the Interim Executive Director will ensure a strong understanding of the strategic priorities by all staff and their commitment to implementing and operationalizing the key priorities.  Inspiring and sustaining their passion and teamwork is imperative.

We are seeking candidates with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relative discipline; progressive and successful Not-for-Profit or Association leadership experience in consolidating successes and growth, breaking new ground, imagining and implementing innovative new initiatives, stakeholder relationships, and managing a successful team; demonstrated success in developing and sustaining strong working relationships with all related external stakeholders; proven ability to be a strong advocate and friend-raiser/fundraiser; success in inspiring and engaging a strong dedicated, highly committed, nimble, high performing team; experience in working with a Board of Directors, or a Board Committee; and a commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, Anti-Oppression and Decolonization.

If you have a high level of energy, well developed communication skills, agility and flexibility, and humility; a non-judgmental approach to working with people, and a passion for bringing people together and supporting members who serve complex populations with diverse challenges, please send your application to Heather Connelly, heather@bluenoseandcompany.com, or Mia Knezovic, mia@bluenoseandcompany.com as soon as possible, before July 13, 2021.

The compensation range for this Interim Executive Director is $130,000 to $145,000.

Feed Ontario is committed to equity in employment. Feed Ontario is committed to equitable hiring practices that allow it to hire qualified staff who reflect the full diversity of Ontario.  We will make any reasonable accommodation, based on any of the human rights protected grounds, to support candidates to participate in the hiring process.
